24 Hours in Milwaukee

We just got home from our first road trip with Conor, a quick trip to Milwaukee. We usually only pass through on our way to Chicago, so we weren't too sure what to expect. Much to our surprise, we loved the city and can't wait to go back! So next time you are passing through Wisconsin, I urge you to spend a day in Milwaukee. I don't think you will regret it!

If you are a book lover like I am, then you will love Boswell Book Company. They host a ton of book signings so you might even get to meet your favorite author!

The 2-mile riverwalk is a gorgeous way to kill a few hours. It will take you along the river through the heart of the city, past some of Milwaukee's best restaurants and brew pubs.

The Drive-Thru

If  'made fresh to order' drive-thru mini-donuts and coffee don't sound like a fantastic idea, then maybe you'll find joy in a Nutella, banana, peanut butter milkshake or a famous sloppy joe.

Milwaukee Art Museum

The building is a work of art in itself and the art inside doesn't disappoint either. It is definitely worth the $17 ticket but if you are looking to save a few bucks, the museum is free on the first Friday of every month.

Milwaukee Public Market

I recommend grabbing fish tacos from the St. Paul Fish Company and heading upstairs to enjoy them with some live music. There was a fantastic clarinetist playing when we went. I also saw that they were hosting a kite making workshop for kids in a few weeks. You can check out the schedule here.

Historic Third Ward

Just steps outside of the Public Market is Milwaukee's best shopping. I could have spent all day walking up and down the streets, exploring the many boutiques.

Miller Park

We are already planning our next trip to Milwaukee so we can catch a baseball game at Miller Park. It's such a cool looking ballpark!

Have you ever been to Milwaukee?

XO, Bev
