We Can't Stop

By law you are supposed to stop eating ramen the second you graduate from college and get a real job, right? Well...we can't stop and we won't stop.

But this isn't the same ramen that you buy in the grocery store 10 for $1. I'm talking about real ramen with pork, vegetables, pickled ginger, nori, and a soft boiled egg. Mmm...the egg is my favorite.

Keith and I are lucky enough to know the guys who make the best ramen in Minneapolis (IMHO). Earlier this year they had an incredibly successful pop-up restaurant and I have been hooked on ramen ever since. I had no idea that the broth could be so flavorful or that the noodles could be so textured and meaty. Honestly, I didn't even know that ramen was supposed to be a soup or have a broth.

After the initial pop-up restaurant, our friends opened a stand at the local farmers market. We have been going on Saturday mornings waiting for them to serve that wonderful ramen again. it happened. And it was kind of a bittersweet end to the farmers market season. I'll miss our Saturday mornings here.

If you want to have a serious drool fest I highly recommend watching the first episode of The Mind of a Chef (it is available on PBS and Netflix). You'll learn all that you need to know about ramen and I guarantee you will Google ramen restaurants in your neighborhood afterwards.

And if you live in New York City, you should go here. David Chang is kind of my hero.

Sidenote: I am LOVING the men's sweatshirt section at Forever 21 right now. I seriously bought 3 new sweatshirts this week...and I had a hard time narrowing it down to just 3!

Do you ever shop in the men's section?
