2014 Resolutions

Since tomorrow is New Year's Eve, I am going to share my resolutions for the New Year. I know that resolutions can be overplayed, but anything to help motivate me to make a positive change (or 2 or 3) a good thing.

In no particular order:

► Listen to Audiobooks ◄
I have never listened to an audiobook before but I want to start. I don't have a particularly long commute into work but it is long enough to listen in the car!

There are so many books that are sitting on my shelf half read. I am terrible at finishing books. It isn't because I don't enjoy reading, I just don't make it a priority.

► Start a Blog ◄
This is something that I have always wanted to do. I have no idea how this is going to turn out but at least I can say that I gave it my best shot!

► Learn how to use my DSLR ◄
My husband gave me a Canon EOS Rebel T3i for Christmas to help me start my blog. I can't wait to learn how to use it properly!

► No Sweats ◄
I tend to fall into ruts where all I want to wear is my yoga pants. Unless I am on my way to the gym...this needs to stop. As I progress in my career I am learning how important it is to be presentable at all times.

► Dedicate More Time to my Treadmill ◄
Here it is: the most common New Year's Resolution in the world. Honestly though, can't you benefit from a little more one-on-one time with your treadmill? It is especially difficult for those of us in cold climates to stay on top of our fitness goals in the winter so I need to try extra hard to make this a priority.

► Take Better Care of my Skin ◄
I had acne as a teenager so you'd think I would be extra careful with my skin now. The truth is, I am one of the worst offenders of going to bed with a full face of makeup. Not only do I ruin my sheets, but as I am getting older I am really starting to notice the terrible impact it is having on my skin.

► No More Frozen Meals ◄
This one is kind of embarrassing. I think I eat at least 3-4  disgusting frozen TV dinners per week at work. I don't even enjoy them! Unfortunately frozen meals are the easiest thing for me to bring to work and are easy to make time for at my desk during busy work weeks. Plus they are super cheap. Last year a goal of mine was to spend less money on work lunches. My solution: stock the freezer with frozen meals and grab one everyday on my way out the door. This year I need to figure out how to get up early enough to make a decent lunch or make it the night before. I am not doing myself any favors by eating that sodium packed garbage.

► Tell People More Often How Grateful I am For Them ◄
My husband does a great job showing me tons of affection and telling me how much he loves me. I love him even more but I don't always do as good of a job vocalizing it. I think the holiday season is a good reminder of how important family and friends are and I need to do a better job recognizing that year-round.

► Play. More. Fetch. ◄
My dog is a fetch machine. I honestly think she could play nonstop every single day in 2014 and still want more. These puppy kisses are what I live for.

Do you make resolutions for the New Year?

XO, Bev
