Good Reads

I recently finished two books that were just too good not to share (and one that wasn't so I won't bother mentioning it again).

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

LOVED.THIS.BOOK. When we first found out that I was pregnant, Keith started reading to me (& nugget) at night. I highly recommend letting your partner read to you. It is so relaxing! Me Before You was the first book that I picked because it has been staring at me from the bookshelf for months. I bought it nearly a year ago on the $4.99 table at Barnes and Nobel ($4.99 for the digital download after you buy the paperback -- good one B&N) but I digress. I don't want to spoil the story but I will say that if Keith hadn't been reading to me, I probably wouldn't have been able to finish it through all of the sobbing. Good sobbing though. I love a book that can make me feel so many emotions. I also loved that it was set in England and we had to look up a bunch of words and references we didn't understand. I want a movie version so bad and it looks like there may be one coming in 2016!

Delicious! by Ruth Reichl

I recently joined a book club and this was our first book of the month. I probably wouldn't have picked it up because I had never heard of the author or the title but It would have been a huge shame! Delicious! is set in New York City and I felt like I was walking the streets all over again. Plus it was largely centered around food. What's not to love? Yes, some of the situations seemed a little bit contrived, but it is such a quick read it is hard to get too caught up in the details. Our book club host made the famous Gingerbread Cake referenced in the book and it was just as good as they make it sound. I highly recommend this book for a light summer read.

Have you read any good books lately? Do tell!

XO, Bev
