The Best Minneapolis & St. Paul Boutiques

Did you know that there is no sales tax on clothing in Minnesota? Pretty awesome, right?

While we may not be known for our shopping (other than being home to the Mall of America) we really do have a lot of fantastic boutiques. I compiled some of my favorites and organized the list by general location to help maximize your shopping plans.

NORTHEAST MINNEAPOLIS

Parc Boutique - Hennepin Avenue (NE Minneapolis)

This is an overall awesome boutique. You can almost always find something both affordable and adorable...or you can completely blow your budget on a great investment piece.

i like you - First Avenue (NE Minneapolis)

This store has the best kitschy Minnesota crafts and knick-knacks. Most of the items (if not all) are made by local artists and are also available on Etsy.

GH2 - Hennepin Avenue (NE Minneapolis)

GH2 specializes in high-end consignment...like Chanel high-end. I once found an amazing vintage leather Prada bag here. I am still kicking myself for not buying it. What was I thinking?! You can also shop their items on eBay.

Mona Williams - University Avenue (NE Minneapolis)

This is another great high-end consignment shop. It is near GH2, Parc, & i like you...so plan ahead and visit all 4 on the same day!

THE NORTH LOOP/WAREHOUSE DISTRICT

Grethen House - 3rd Avenue (Minneapolis), 50th & France (Edina)

Grethen House is the non-outlet/non-consignment "parent" store of GH2. This is one of the best boutiques to buy high-end designer goods in the Twin Cities.

Statement Boutique - 3rd Avenue (Minneapolis)

Statement Boutique has a great mix of jewelry, clothing, and local products.

SAINT PAUL

Primp Boutique - Multiple Locations: Selby & Dale (St. Paul), 48th and Chicago (Minneapolis), Shops at West End (St. Louis Park), White Bear Lake, Woodbury

Primp was my favorite boutique when I was in college. It is cheap and chic (all items are under $100).

karma - Selby & Snelling (St. Paul)

karma is great place to find chic bohemian pieces. It is kind of hit or miss though. Sometimes I love everything, sometimes...not so much.

Stephanie's - Cleveland Avenue & Ford Parkway (St. Paul)

Stephanie's has a very unique clothing selection. I always find pieces from designers I haven't heard of before or can't find anywhere else.

UPTOWN/LYN-LAKE

Covered - Lagoon Avenue (Minneapolis)

Covered is my favorite place to buy quality denim in Minneapolis. The employees here are extremely knowledgeable and work hard to find you the right style and fit.

Proper & Prim - Lyn-Lake (Minneapolis)

Proper & Prim is like Urban Outfitters...but it smells good.

Pharmacie - Lyn-Lake (Minneapolis)

This place makes Patina look like a discount store. I could spend hours (and hundreds of dollars) here on things I never realized that I needed.

Cliché - Lyndale Avenue (Minneapolis)

This boutique has a great array of locally designed clothing items. I always find fun and edgy pieces here to mix up my wardrobe.

June - Lyndale Avenue (Minneapolis)

Like GH2 and Mona Williams, June is an upscale resale shop. I usually have good luck when I am looking for necklaces and handbags here.

SOUTH MINNEAPOLIS

Vintage/Antique Shops on Minnehaha Avenue - South Minneapolis (e.g. Junket)

They call it the Minnehaha Mile. You could spend an entire afternoon walking up and down Minnehaha Avenue visiting all of the shops. If you are hunting for furniture items though you will probably want to drive. There is ample street parking in front of each shop but keep in mind that most of the shops are only open on the weekends.

Hunt & Gather is another favorite antique shop. Not really in the same area...but definitely worth checking out!

Did I miss anything? What are some of your favorite boutiques?

XO, Bev
