Strawberry Crumble

This may be the easiest dessert you have ever made. And it is perfect for summer!


When I was growing up I loved angel food cake with fresh strawberries and whip cream. Slicing the strawberries with my dad was one of my favorite things to do. This recipe reminds me so much of a simple angel food cake...but better!

Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 45 minutes
Serves: 12-16

What you need:

4 cups Fresh strawberries [roughly chopped]
1/2 cup White sugar
1 box [16 oz] Yellow cake mix
1 cup Water
1/4 cup [4 tbsp] Butter
Whip cream or vanilla ice cream [optional]

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Lightly grease a 9" x 13" baking pan.
Roughly chop strawberries.


Evenly spread the strawberries on the bottom of your lightly greased baking pan.
Sprinkle the sugar over the strawberries and lightly toss.
Mix: cake, water, and butter.
Distribute the cake mixture on top of the sugared strawberries.

Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes until the crust has browned and the strawberries are tender.


Top with whip cream or vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!
